Bullet lube is commercially available or from dozens of homemade recipes (see ASSRA Forum) . Many home recipes contain obscure ingredients such as sperm whale oil, steam cylinder lubricant, 'possum fat, and ground unicorn horn.
Javelina Schuetzen Lube (100% 'possum & unicorn free) is available through CPA rifles.
Part of the fun is scoring well with a bullet you make. There are commercially available molds and custom molds can be made for an individual rifle. This component also lends itself to the tinkering nature of our competitors and some try to make their own.
Bullet Molds are made from steel, brass and aluminum. The design features (shape of nose, taper of bullet, # of grease grooves, weight, etc.) are endless. An internet search will lead you to current custom mold makers and there are plenty of used molds for sale on Ebay and similar site.
Molds come in various options. This one is a double mold and one side is plain base and the other as gas check ( gas checks not allowed in ASSRA matches)
Mold design allows for Base pour (top mold) or Nose pour styles
